Race Officer:

The Dartmouth Yacht Club is accepting applications for the position of Race Officer on the DYC Race Committee

Dartmouth Yacht Club runs an excellent Racing Program in Bedford Basin on Monday and Wednesday nights, and in addition also runs several regattas during the season. 

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for sail racing and the skill and leadership to successfully and safely run the program.

Qualifications:

·         Race Management Courses or considerable experience in that field

·         Boating PCPC and Marina Radio Qualifications (ROC(M))

·         Strong communication skills

·         First Aid

·         Experience at Race Committee work

Responsibilities:

·         Coordinate DYC Racing Activities on Monday and Wednesday evening starting 11 May safely and efficiently

·         Coordinate DYC Regattas safety and efficiently

·          Basic maintenance and upkeep of equipment

Junior Sailing Instructor - Wetfeet level:

The Dartmouth Yacht Club is accepting applications for the position of Wet Feet Instructor.

Dartmouth Yacht Club runs an excellent “Learn to Sail” program in Wright’s Cove off the Bedford Basin. DYC hosts The Bamse Cup Regatta every year, which is a fun training regatta for young sailors in Nova Scotia. DYC delivers the CANSail program from CANSail 1 –6 and includes Wet Feet.

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for both sailing and working with young people.

 

Qualifications:

·         Certified or Trained as a Wet feet instructor or CANSail 1-2 Coach with Wet feet module

·         Registered and paid instructor dues as of June 2015

·         Strong communication skills

·         Valid prerequisites as per Sail Canada guidelines

·         Pleasure Craft Operating Card

·         VHF Operating Card

·         Instructing/Coaching Experience preferred

Responsibilities:

·         Safety of students

·         Deliver the Wet Feet Module to young sailors

·          Basic maintenance and upkeep of equipment

Tender Operator/Gas Dock Attendant:

The Dartmouth Yacht Club is seeking 2 reliable, energetic and hard working people for summer employment as Tender Service and Gas Dock operators.

Boat handling experience in an asset. Start date is end of April 2017 and end date is mid-October 2017.

PCOC and VHF Radio certificates are also an asset. Send Resumes to DYC before Fri 7 April 2017.
